    Green Tea Matcha Herbalife Shake

    I find that every now and then I need to add excitement to my Herbalife shakes that are fun and easy to make. Japanese cuisine is my favorite and provides me with many healthy recipes to spice up my nutrition program. When I visited Tokyo, I found an overwhelming number of dishes that were made with green tea beyond what I would have imagined. Of course we all know the benefits of green tea; highly antioxidant, boosts energy, boosts metabolism, and helps the body metabolize body fat, which is great for weight loss. We love green tea at Herbalife!

    Japanese style:
    Make a traditional Herbalife Vanilla Shake and add some Matcha

    Ingredients:
    2 scoops of Formula One Vanilla
    1 scoop of Vanilla Protein Drink Mix
    1 Tablespoon of Green Tea Matcha
    1 cup of ice
    1/2 cup of water

    New Zealand Style:
    I also discovered that in the land down under, it’s a trend to make Green Tea Matcha Cafe Lattes. These are almost better than the vanilla based one.

    Ingredients:
    2 scoops of Formula One Cafe Latte
    1 scoop of Vanilla Protein Drink Mix
    1 Tablespoon of Green Tea Matcha
    1 cup of ice
    1/2 cup of water.

    Ice cream style:
    If you have a Vitamix or high power blender and add a bit of water and some more ice. Grind it down so that it becomes frothy. AMAZING!!!

    Coconut Quinoa
    Quinoa is an amazing healthy snack option. I personally love quinoa & I love coconut, so why not mix the two together? I have to credit my beautiful friend Kaelen for introducing me to this super simple recipe that is divine.

    Ingredients:
    1 cup Quinoa
    2 cups of water
    1-2 Tablespoons
    Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil
    2 stalks of Green onions finely chopped

    Quinoa is known as a grain but in fact is actually a seed that is also a protein source. Coconut oil has many benefits that I could write a whole book on so I will only mention a few important ones. Eat fat to burn fat (eat good fats that is). Coconut oil can help the body boost into fat burning mode. Coconut oil can also help cut sugar cravings.

    How to make this recipe:

    In a pot with a closed lid add 1 cup of quinoa and 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil and then reduce it to medium heat and cook until the quinoa looks fluffy. You can take a little taste to make sure it’s cooked through and at the texture you like it. Sometimes quinoa can turn out too mushy if you add too much water. For this recipe it will be best for the quinoa to not be soggy. As soon as the quinoa is finished, take the coconut oil and stir it into the quinoa. Use less or more oil depending on your preference Mix in the green onions. Enjoy in a salad or just on its own for a meal or snack.
